Also available in:

Merino silk leggings that work as hard at night as they do during the day.

Knit from 70% GOTS certified organic merino wool and 30% silk, these leggings are a favourite for children's pyjama bottoms - paired with the Merinosilk Crew they make one of the most practical natural sleepwear sets available. They work equally well as a base layer under snow pants, school trousers, or outdoor gear.

The merino silk blend regulates body temperature through the night, breathing against skin and releasing heat when your child is warm. It's naturally flame resistant without chemical treatments - an important property for sleepwear worn near heaters or open fires. Reinforced knee panels add durability where children need it most. The gentle elastic waist sits comfortably without digging in, and the rib knit stretches for movement and growth without losing its shape.

Are merino silk leggings safe for children's sleepwear?

Merino wool is naturally flame resistant - it has a higher ignition temperature than most synthetics and doesn't melt onto skin. Silk reinforces this property. Neither fibre requires chemical flame retardant finishing, making merino silk a safer alternative to synthetic pyjama fabrics that achieve flame resistance through chemical treatment. OEKO-TEX® certification confirms this fabric is free from harmful chemicals.

Why use merino silk leggings as a base layer?

A merino silk base layer regulates temperature actively rather than simply wicking moisture. In cold conditions it traps warmth; during physical activity it releases heat and breathes against the skin. At 70/30 merino to silk, the blend is fine enough not to add bulk under outer layers, strong enough for daily wear, and stretchy enough to move freely - properties synthetic base layers replicate chemically rather than naturally.
