Are merino silk leggings safe for children's sleepwear?
Merino wool is naturally flame resistant - it has a higher ignition temperature than most synthetics and doesn't melt onto skin. Silk reinforces this property. Neither fibre requires chemical flame retardant finishing, making merino silk a safer alternative to synthetic pyjama fabrics that achieve flame resistance through chemical treatment. OEKO-TEX® certification confirms this fabric is free from harmful chemicals.
Why use merino silk leggings as a base layer?
A merino silk base layer regulates temperature actively rather than simply wicking moisture. In cold conditions it traps warmth; during physical activity it releases heat and breathes against the skin. Love Them!
My kids love the Nui Merino Silk Leggings and matching Crew Top. They keep them warm on winter nights as pajamas, cozy during the day for clothes, and they can be worn many times before washing. I ordered these during the pre-order in August and the date was pushed back many times with them finally arriving in December just before Christmas. I will continue ordering from Nui but I was a bit disappointed with my pre-order experience.

I love all of my daughter's Nui clothes so much that I'm always tempted to get my own after hers arrive! Ha! We have these leggings in the gorgeous Deep Sea. All these colors! So beautiful! It's beautiful and a serves as a great under layer in cold weather and a shirt when it starts to warm up. These seem to be true to size!
